MOST Application Systems can be developed for any conceivable operational /managerial uses. Data inputs can be easily manipulated using Excel for determining and forecasting cost, labour hours, number of workmen required, man machine ratio, and for evaluating cost improvement projects.
The primary development approach of the MOST Application System is to provideoperational measurable inputs to generate the many possible outcomes to help managers, supervisors and engineers decide on the best possible course of action to take. Cycle Time Engineering Knowhow Managers, engineers and supervisors can be provided with cycle time engineering knowhow to equip them with knowledge on how the operational decision models can be constructed with an u n d erstan d i n g of th e following :
1 . Standard man-hours
2. Quality-based inspection time
3. Device variable machine time MOST Application Systems
4. Standardization of operator work performed during production
5. Operational methods during machine run time
6. Operational systems and policy time affecting production work
7. Equipment, production and plant capacity effectiveness
The above, together with the MOST analysis of the operations and sub-operations of the work together with the Decision Model to be constructed will become the blueprint for the development of the MOST Application System in Excel.
Manpower Planning Model in Excel This will be the final product that the managers, engineers and supervisors will use to improve their effectiveness in managing the day-to-day operations of
the plant.
Managers will be able to compute their Standard Manpower for each production line and plan in advance the deployment pattern of workmen to match the production requirement to optimize the costs of operation and meet the delivery targets. Continuous Improvement to Improve Efficiency and Eliminate Operational and Design Wastes Today’s manufacturing and service oriented organizations can no longer survive without Continuous Improvement to reduce operational and design wastes in the process, equipment and operational method. With Basic MOST work measurement applied to all standard work, managers, engineers and supervisors will have the means to:
1 . Reduce the wastes in the value stream workflow.
2. Evaluate the improved design of work stations for operational efficiency.
3. Reconfigure the operational methods for Cycle Time Reduction.
4. Establish the standard man-hour required for a new product production line.
5. Establish a standard Process Costing System to estimate new product production cost.
6. Establish the Process Standard Data for all production, engineering, service operational methods
for plant-wide cost control.
